This package contains patterns and instructions for adding Swing Variations to the Tabula Rasa Jacket and for making a Swing Vest. Pattern pieces include an asymmetrical swing side to substitute for the original flared or straight side, a swing cuff, templates to create a curved front and back hemline for the swing side, and a template for creating a single-layer bias band. Includes all sizes, XS-3XL.
Please note: This product does not include all patterns needed for a full jacket; refer to the original Tabula Rasa Jacket pattern for the front, back and sleeve pattern pieces and for size information.
The instruction book also contains extensive information and tips for sewing with the drapey and sheer fabrics that are most suited to the swing jacket or vest; these fabrics can be challenging to work with and require special seam and hem finishes. Suggested fabrics include softly draping woven fabrics such as sheer or opaque silks (crepe de chine, jacquard, twill, charmeuse, chiffon or georgette), rayon, tencel, bamboo or wool challis, fine cotton lawn, lace and velvet. An original Tabula Rasa Jacket with a straight or flared side can also be made with stiffer sheers, such as organza, cotton organdy, silk gazaar, and nylon netting.
