Carrie picked up this colorful print rayon fabric while in France on retreat a few years ago. Last summer she sewed it up into a breezy sleeveless dress. It features the Crossover V Yoke Front and V Yoke Back patterns found in V Neckline Variations for the Carpe Diem Dress & Tunic. Carrie underlined the yokes with muslin for opacity and stability with this drapey rayon. She found the scraps of bright batik rayon (thank you SewBatik.com) in her stash to make the double fold bias binding. The blend of blues and greens brings out all the tropical blues and greens in the print! The binding was used to finish the neckline edges of the yoke, to emphasize the yoke seam, and to bind the sleeveless armholes. A bit of fullness was added to the skirt by angling the lower front and back patterns away from the fold by a few inches at the hem.
