The Opus pattern from Sewing Quilted Patchwork Jackets was used to make this adorable “Barn Coat” style jacket for Carrie. The jacket is quilted with simple straight stitching to create 5″ squares. Real suede leather scraps were used on the collar, cuffs, and the top edges of the front pockets. The outer edges of the jacket and pockets are bound with a faux cotton ikat fabric that matches the brown print in the fabric. The coat is lined with thinsulate, making it a nice choice for cold days!
Take a close look at this fun print featuring cats sewing at a treadle machine and some trouble-making mice. Read more about the fabric and the construction of this jacket in the post Thankful for Fabulous Fabric.
