This very comfortable shirt is made from 2 coordinating rayon fabrics from Sew Batik, another vendor we’ve gotten to know on the sewing circuit. We especially love Sew Batik’s rayons which have a soft hand and lovely drape. This top features two coordinating fabrics. Rae carefully laid out her pattern to take advantage of the graduated borders; you can see she used the densest part of one border to frame her face with the spread collar and to create a “cuff” effect on the sleeves. The front and back “tree-like” border print rises to multi-toned simplicity (swing sides). flow from the lighter design to denser part of the other border print moving from shoulders to hem. This garment combines elements from both Shirt Variations and Swing Variations for the TRJ. Use the soft interfacings in our interfacing bundles to give rayon shirts some structure while keeping them relaxed.
