Carrie crafted this cool easy knit dress using a mash-up of Fit for Art patterns and techniques, inspired by the giant motif which demanded a large space to show off the print. The pattern was based on her Tabula Rasa Knit Tee & Tunic pattern, incorporating the ballet neckline from Wide Neckline Variations and sleeveless side from Twin Set Variations. However, she followed the construction techniques for a sleeveless Carpe Diem Dress or Tunic, using facings to finish the armhole and neckline areas rather than bindings. The lower part of the front and back patterns were skewed off the fold to create a loose swingy skirt, cool and comfy for hot weather. It has become a summer favorite!
