This Organic Cotton Coat features a bodice made from an early Tabula Rasa Jacket that was rather ill fitting and two large pockets to show off some scrap lace samples that wanted to see the light of day. The design, based on the Tabula Rasa Jacket is described in the post Happy Birthday Shirt with the same crossover design and band finish.
Once the coat was assembled, it needed some trim so Rae used scraps of the fabrics, coordinating yarn and cord left over from the pocket overlays to create strips of scrap lace. They were placed along the empire waist and around the band for a totally organized look. The buttons were applied with extra yarn and cord as well.
