This magnificent raw edge collaged Shirt Collar Style Opus Coat is reversible, so two jackets in one. The foundation for the collage is pieced together from 3 lighter-colored fabrics. The raw edge pieces are cut from two identical cotton quilting panels featuring a geisha and garden. The central figure is placed on the center back and other elements form a garden on the two fronts. The darker reverse side is a wholecloth quilted jacket, with the exception of an added back yoke. Each jacket section was quilted free motion with the collage side facing up, to ensure that all collage pieces were adequately stitched down. The long sleeves can be turned back for contrasting cuffs to either side of the coat. The closures are large decorative gold snaps.
