It seems that everyone is drawn to this jacket when its hanging in our booth! Rae created this jacket in collaboration with an experienced quilter. Terry chose the inside fabric (which is also the source for the flower appliques) and quilted the layers together while Rae created the jacket. Fronts, back and sleeves are all pieced using a diagonal line to create the yokes and cuffs, a nice change from straight across. The diagonals also lead your eyes to the center front Split Shaped Band; directions for this style band are included in Band Variations for the Tabula Rasa Jacket. Finally, flower cutouts from the reverse side fabric are applied on the surface with a loose “raw edge collage,” one of Rae’s favorite surface techniques. Directions for replicating the Flower Garden Reversible Jacket are available for purchase on our website.
