This knit tunic was made from a single large square panel of a knit. I found the fabric at Mood Fabrics in New York City. The design in the panel cut diagonally across the square – one side dark brown with a circle motif of purple, green and blue leaves and vines and the other side with white and blue morning glories inside the circles. It took a lot of careful planning to lay the pattern pieces out on the fabric panel to end up with the diagonal line traveling all the way around the tunic! It really helped to draft off a full set of pattern pieces (full front, full back, right side, left side, right sleeve and left sleeve) to lay out on the fabric and arrange the pieces to meet correctly at the seams.
