This beautiful silk jacket is great for spring. The body of the jacket was constructed entirely from a purchased embroidered silk fabric. A solid silk dupioni in a contrasting color was used for the gathered front band, cuff facings, and a little piping along the side seam. The crisp silk really makes the gathered front band (pattern included in Band Variations and Pockets) and the bell cuff (pattern included in Sleeve and Cuff Variations) stand out! The band closure is a fabulous “jeweled” vintage button that echos the flower shapes in the embroidered silk.
Lovely! Your photos are fantastic ways to help spark my creativity with the fabrics I have on hand. This jacket was not what I had in mind when I bought the pattern, but now . . . another project in the works!
Thanks! We are glad to hear that our samples are inspiring ideas for more jackets!
