Carpe Diem with Beaded Seams

This blouse in Sew Batik’s indigo rayon batik was assembled using the same techniques that Rae described in Bead the Seams for Festive Garments. The side seams, sleeves and cuffs are all joined together with hand sewn beads after finishing the edges of each piece with a rolled edge on the serger. It is based on the Carpe Diem Tunic pattern with a few easy pattern adjustments. Rae put a center seam in the front and back to create more places to feature the beading and altered the scoop neck to a V-neck instead. Follow the directions in Make a V-Neck Carpe Diem to draft a V-neckline pattern for yourself.
