Everyone needs a basic black dress and the Carpe Diem Dress & Tunic is the perfect pattern for it, whether for the office or special occasions. Rae underlined the black lace before assembling the dress and finished the sleeve hems with carefully cut lace. It was one of her first exploratory test samples when we were developing V Neckline Variations for the Carpe Diem, so the shape of the V may be slightly different than the finished pattern! Rae also experimented with inserting a pleat at each side seam… so look for an explanatory blog post in the future.
