Teal Burn-out Velvet Swing Jacket

This is a favorite sheer swing jacket because it feels so nice to wear and has both brown and black in the featured print, allowing it to be worn with a wide range of things.  The burn-out silk velvet used in front and back has a very large pattern that had to be carefully placed when laying out the pattern pieces.  It ties together the solids used for the velvet swing sides, sheer brown sleeves and teal lace cuffs.  Another sheer print from the same color family was used to create the ruffly front band.  All of the pieces were assembled with a rolled edge stitch on the serger.  The patterns for this jacket style are all included in Swing Variations for the Tabula Rasa Jacket along with directions for working with sheer and drapey fabrics, including the rolled edge technique.
