This wonderful red wool Tabula Rasa coat is a lengthened version of the Tabula Rasa Jacket. Rae lined the coat with an acetate and lycra coat lining because the wool was stretchy. She used the gathered neckband style and in-seam buttonholes (for the heavy vintage glass buttons) and added interior kangaroo pockets. Directions and patterns for the gathered band, in-seam buttonholes and pocket are included with the Band Variations and Pockets pattern. The coat gets its WOW from the featured fur collar and cuffs hand-stitched over the gathered neckband and sleeves. Rae purchased the collars, which were constructed from black fur and chiffon, from Soutache, a fabulous buttons and trim store in Chicago.
