Expand your styling options for the Carpe Diem Dress & Tunic pattern with V Neckline Variations! This package contains templates, patterns, and instructions for V Neckline Variations to the Carpe Diem Dress & Tunic. It includes front and back templates for converting the scoop neck Carpe Diem to a V neck, plus front and back facings to match. Play with new pattern pieces for a Crossover V Yoke Front and Back V Yoke, a fun way to incorporate a contrast fabric into your Carpe Diem tops and dresses. More extras included new pattern pieces for a Curved Collar to tucked into the V Neckline and coordinating Curved Cuff to add to the original Carpe Diem sleeve. A new two-piece pattern for Tie Sleeves can be incorporated into a core Carpe Diem or combined with these V Neckline Variations. This package does not include full patterns for the dress or tunic front, back, side or original sleeve; please refer to your core Carpe Diem patterns for those pieces, size information, and overall yardage. The instruction book features design and finishing tips, in addition to construction, and a bonus technique for finishing a Crossover V Yoke Carpe Diem with contrast bias binding.
Like the core Carpe Diem pattern, V Neckline Variations are suitable for a wide variety of woven fabrics such as cotton, linen, rayon, denim, twill, corduroy, and more. The Tie Sleeves benefit from a drapey fabric, such as woven rayon or silk, particularly one that is similar on both the right and wrong side because the ties will be seen on both. Fabric Requirements: A basic V Neckline Variation requires no more fabric than the selected view of a core Carpe Diem. Plan on ½ yard of contrast fabric, if desired, for a front and back V yoke. The collar and cuffs may require an additional ¼ yard and the tie sleeves may require an additional ¼ to ½ yard, depending on the fabric’s width. Fusible interfacing suitable for your fabric is needed to ensure a crisp neckline finish and to support the collar and cuffs.
