The Carpe Diem Dress & Tunic has a scoop neckline and natural shoulder and features Fit for Art’s signature square armhole construction. Choose from three views – sleeveless, cap sleeve and ¾ length sleeve. Each view can be sewn in any of three lengths (tunic, above the knee or below the knee dress) with an optional back belt for shaping and optional pleat insert in the center back seam. Fashion the Carpe Diem loosely enough to be pulled over the head or make it more fitted with a center back keyhole opening or zipper. Pattern includes alternate AB or CD fronts for different bust sizes and alternate straight or flared side panels for customizing the fit through the hips. This multi-size pattern is available in sizes XS-3XL and in print or digital format.
The instruction book includes design tips on choosing materials, adding artful design, personalizing the neckline, sleeve and length, incorporating support as an interfacing, lining or underlining, finishing techniques and closures. Detailed instructions aid the sewer in making additional fitting adjustments, if needed, on a mock-up and transferring those adjustments to the paper pattern. Once fitted, this versatile pattern can be used to make dresses and tunics in all kinds of fabrics for all seasons and all occasions. Print vs. Premium Print Format
What is the difference between Premium Print and Print format? The difference is only in the tissue; the instruction books are exactly the same. Print format includes a traditional tissue printed all in black on tan tissue paper; this is printed at Simplicity and looks just like the commercial companies’ tissues that you are accustomed to. Premium Print format includes a heavier weight tissue printed in color on white tissue paper; this is printed by Sublime Grafx, who we recommend for all of your digital printing needs! On both types of tissues, each size is represented by a different line graphic so it’s easier to distinguish the sizes. On the Premium Print tissue, each size is also represented by a different color.
