Carrie made the first sample for Jean Jacket Variations out of a medium weight black denim with a white cross weave, which lends it nice texture. It features the classic collar and straight cuff, front breast pockets with flaps, and a hem band. She experimented with true and faux flat-fell seam techniques, both of which are explained in the instruction book for Jean Jackets. All seams and details are accented with gray cotton top stitching thread in a denim weight. Carrie chose plain silver colored jean tack buttons to complete the look. The sleeves feature pleats and a continuous bound lap placket in the one-piece sleeve, the same technique she used for the Tabula Rasa Shirt Dress. Read more in Classic Jean Jacket Details.
