American culture is gracious to give us a time every year to pause and count our blessings. Carrie and Rae will each celebrate with their respective families here in the Mid-Atlantic on Thanksgiving day this Thursday. Before our family celebrations, we want to celebrate the wonderful year that has just passed and our hopeful future. So here is Fit for Art’s Thankfulness Pause for 2025.

First we acknowledge the wonderful talents of our team of supporting contractors. Our Website/Promotions leader, Amanda of Winners Circle Creative, is such a partner/cheerleader for our new efforts and products and truly “gets us” which is an extra special treat. Next up our Graphic Designer, Alison of Alison Cooper Design, who was very busy this summer and fall helping us bring the V Neckline Variation directions for the Carpe Diem from concept to product. Our Digital Pattern master, Madeline of Goheen Designs, finalizes our pattern pieces for your sewing success. Our terrific product photographer, Christine Armstrong of Armstrong Studio, makes everything look just so for our website and social media visuals. And a sincerely felt shout out to our Editors at Fox Chapel Press for helping us realize a beautiful book about one of our passion projects, making quilted jackets.

A special shout out to Threads Magazine with whom we have been affiliated since our inception 15 years ago. Threads, now 30 years old, is the only regularly published magazine that remains focused on sewing garments and we appreciate the opportunities they give us to share our ideas with their readers. Check out Rae’s article about alterations for modern maternity clothing in the Holiday Issue. This is certainly a topic near and dear to our hearts as Rae welcomed her first granddaughter in 2024 and Carrie has one due in late December. We are so very blessed.

Let’s not forget the team at La Cascade in Durfort France who make our summertime Enchanting France events comfortable and inspiring.
We also appreciate the team at the Maritime Institute in the Baltimore/ Washington corridor who host our Spring and Fall retreat. It is so fun to stitch together in new environments, meeting new friends and exploring new ideas.
