Supply Lists for Upcoming Classes and Events

Quilted Vest Making Class with Rae Cumbie at Quilt! Knit! Stitch! St. Louis, MO, April 2026

  • Enough pre-quilted fabric or an old quilt for recycling. (Approximately 1 ½-2 yards for a kid’s vest and 2-3 yards for an adult vest to allow for fussy-cutting.) Quilted fabric should have a fabric top, light weight batting and a backing.
  • Thread to match for basic garment sewing.
  • At least 3/4 yard of a coordinating fabric (unquilted) for finishes.
  • Basic sewing and cutting tools of your choosing. Please bring plenty of pins or clips and a seam ripper.
  • A straight ruler for pattern adjustments and assessing grainline/pattern placement.
  • Pattern:
    • Opus Pattern, available digitally in the Sewing Quilted Patchwork Jackets book. Trace the front, back, and side pattern pieces onto paper in your expected size plus the size above and below your expected size. Make a mock up if desired in muslin with the balance and grain lines drawn on as described in the book for a complete sizing assessment.
