Japanese Medallion Jacket

Japanese Medallion

Carrie combined 3 textured Japanese cottons and the Renaissance group of Cherrywood Cottons to make this jacket. The front band, cuffs and piping were strip pieced from the Cherrywood cottons, then cut to fit. There is a very discrete in-seam buttonhole hiding between two of the pieces in the band.  The piping was filled with a narrow nylon cording and inserted into the side seams just like the flat piping described in the basic Tabula Rasa Jacket pattern. The full sleeves are Cherrywood rayon (which we are very sorry to say has been discontinued!) gathered at the shoulder and at the smaller cuff , which gives them a graceful drape. The full sleeve pattern is included in Sleeve & Cuff Variations for the TRJ and directions for adding an in-seam button hole are included in Band Variations and Pockets for the TRJ. The entire jacket is lined with china silk, making it a nice weight for Fall!
