Spring Coat from a Quilt

Presented with this fabric as a slightly damaged tufted quilt, Rae set about creating a coat for her friend Sally . The Tabula Rasa Jacket pattern was the perfect starting point and it was even possible to line up the sides to the front and back while maintaining the quilt’s border along the hemline and the collar.  The fabulous vintage buttons, which close with snaps underneath were the perfect finish.  Read more about the making of this jacket in the post, A Coat from a Quilt including pattern work to create the faux shawl collar, add pockets and cleverly decorated seams inside.
