This open collar modification of Shirt Variations for the TRJ is destined for shoulder season wearing since it is made in a warmer and darker paisley fabric. In addition, it features a two-piece sleeve with cuff from Jean Jacket Variations and a back yoke with a little twist. Instead of a center back pleat, like the Lavender Shirt and Floral Shirt with open collars, the lower back is finished with two asymmetrically shaped “flaps”. Rae will write more about how to draft a pattern for this back style in the blog soon. For now, you can see the shape of the pattern piece in the post Quiet Luxury and see the pieces combined before construction in the post A Big Summer Shirt.
