This beautiful sheer chiffon Tabula Rasa Jacket was crafted for Carrie to wear to a formal family wedding. The fabric had been purchased in NYC several years ago and waiting quietly in her stash for the perfect occasion. The pattern pieces were very carefully laid out to capture the deeper border print at the jacket’s hem and the smaller border at the shoulders and sleeve cuffs. We found a crisper black organza with alternating textured sections in Rae’s stash that worked perfectly for the band. It was challenging fabric to sew! The French seams add stability. and the hems are simply turned up twice to add weight and more structure. The jacket is as light as air , so easy to pack for travel. Carrie finished a large rectangle of the leftover fabric with rolled edges to use as a matching shawl or fold into a sash. It makes for a very striking look over a black jumpsuit or palazzo pants!
