Rae’s first trial of the Crossover V Yoke from V Neckline Variations was sewn into a cropped Carpe Diem top with a busy linen floral print. She carefully cut the lower front and back pieces to include at their upper edges a strip of gingham check that was part of the fabric’s print. She also brought the gingham into the cuffs that complete the slightly gathered sleeves. Like Twirling Parasols, this trial led us to conclude that having the crossover yoke in both the front and back was just a little too much, so the final Back V Yoke has been modified and raised, as seen in the Red Poppy Tunic.
