This Tabula Rasa Jacket is created from two fabrics, a batiked rayon from Sew Batik and vintage silk kimono panels embellished with gold paint by Laura Murray Designs. (Both of these vendors are present at several sewing and quilt shows around the country as well as having on-line stores.) This jacket features a basic band with button loops for the large wooden buttons (see Band Variations and Pockets for directions), a free-hanging pocket, and a turnback cuff (Sleeve & Cuff Variations). Keep an eye on our blog to learn how to make the free-hanging pocket! Be sure to take a look at the back view which, like the fronts, is pieced out of both fabrics.
