Carrie made this Carpe Diem Tunic from 3 cotton fabrics she had purchased years ago at a quilt store in Santa Fe. The primary fabric is a very textured Japanese cotton, often described as Dobby Weave, featuring floral wreaths on a plum ground. The front and back patterns were divided at the middle horizontal balance line to create a front and back yoke that lines up with the sleeve/side seam. Three cotton batiks blending the same colors were used for the yoke, sleeves, facings, and piping. The tunic closes with an invisible zipper at center back. Check out the “kangaroo” style pocket hidden on the right side panel!
Love this tunic and the placement of the various fabrics is great
Simple but very effective use of collected fabrics!
