Visit Fit for Art Patterns at a sewing event near you!
Fit for Art Patterns appears at national and regional sewing, quilting, and fiber art shows and conferences as exhibitors and teachers. In our booth, we offer complimentary jacket sizings as well as 30 minute pants fittings for the Eureka Pants that Fit for an additional fee. You can see samples of wearable art jackets, knit tops and Eureka! Pants that Fit, purchase all the great Fit for Art products, take a class with Rae Cumbie or Sarah Veblen, or see a trunk show at these events. Please see our Upcoming Events on this website for a listing of shows or other events that are currently scheduled. Let us know if there is an event in your area where our products and sewing philosophy will fit right in!
What does a pants fitting involve?
In the fitting session, we size you by putting our pre-made fitting shells on you, so it is helpful to wear a close fitting top that can be tucked into the pants shell. After we’ve established the correct size, we do a pin fitting and write up all the changes on what we call a fitting prescription. We go over every pattern change that we are recommending so you will understand what we want you to do with your tissue pattern. Along with the information in the booklet that comes with the Eureka! pattern, this should make doing the the pattern changes pretty straightforward. When we fit this way, we try to get you about 85-90% of the way towards a well-fitting pair of slacks, and sometimes we’re quite close to 100%. We often give you some suggestions as to what to try if you encounter certain situations once you’ve made your mock-up with our suggested changes.
