Everyone needs a basic black dress and the Carpe Diem Dress & Tunic is the perfect pattern for it, whether for the office or special occasions. Rae underlined the black lace before assembling the dress and finished the sleeve hems with carefully cut lace. It was one of her first exploratory test samples when we were developing the Carpe Diem pattern, so if you are wondering about the V-neckline, don’t fret. It will soon follow as a variation for the Carpe Diem core pattern! She also experimented with inserting a pleat at each side seam… so look for an explanatory blog post in the future.
