Rae had worked with me during her in-person retreats to get the Tabula Rasa
jacket and knit top to fit my very asymmetrical body. I have other specific fitting issues but Rae was ready for the challenge and the result was patterns that fit and make me look balanced. I was excited for my next pattern which was going to be the shirt variations. Like everyone else, the pandemic put further assistance on hold. I hesitated at first about a virtual appointment, not understanding how I would get a garment to fit without being right there, but decided to go ahead and give it a try. At our first appointment Rae explained how to do the alterations I needed and sent me pictures when I needed further clarification. After I had altered the pattern and sewn the mock-up I would send photos of different views of the garment on me before my next appointment so that Rae could see how it looked and what might need to be done next. I am extremely excited that as a result of my virtual appointments I now have my well-fitting shirt pattern that I will be making many times in the future.
